Gabriel LAURENT is a French artist who lives and works in Verdun, where he teaches arts.

His work is rooted in a contemporary approach to figuration, nourished by a vast repertoire of images drawn from pop culture.

He creates dense and dynamic compositions, structured by a thick, expressive black outline, at the crossroads of comic art and advertising imagery. His intense and contrasting palette — deep blues, acid greens, vivid reds — plays a key role in the visual impact of his work.

Taking inspiration from mass media, Gabriel Laurent reinterprets the classical genres of painting — portrait, still life, memento mori, animal painting — which he transposes into a pop, energetic and resolutely contemporary aesthetic. Fragmentation, accumulation, and saturation become a fully asserted visual language.

His works present a hybrid and abundant universe that above all celebrates diversity and cultural blending.
