"Asakusa Girl" From the serie Tokyoverse

She embodies urban elegance through a feminine figure in search of identity. Inspired by Tokyo fashion posters, this work captures a contemporary style and strong Japanese symbolism. In TOKYOVERSE, Bouillot draws inspiration from the vibrant street-style culture of Tokyo. Starting as a subculture in the backstreets of Harajuku, Japanese street fashion has changed a lot over the years and is still very prominent in Tokyo today. Bouillot aims for a more streamlined and minimalist approach here, incorporating a monochromatic background. Showcasing female figures with an emphasis on fashion, and flower compositions with a futuristic approach, he cleverly transcribes and uses the shapes and forms of clothing to create a sense of volume and depth in the artwork. Immersed in the fashion and creativity of his Japanese contemporaries, Bouillot invites us in his geometric, monochromatic, but not least vibrant world of shiny textures and enchanting compositions, reminiscent of the urban fashion districts of Tokyo.
