Empty Trash Can – 2025

Size : 146 x 114 cm - 80F

Acrylic on canvas

"Empty Trash Can", commissioned by the Mangroves Foundation in Barcelona, continues my visual language. Through the intertwining metallic ribbons, I aim to illustrate the tension between order and chaos, between sleek industrial aesthetics and a deeper ecological message. In this work, I question the validity of “green” narratives, often co-opted by greenwashing practices. The green trash can—an emblem of recycling—loses its meaning here, overwhelmed by waste that spills into the space. This contrast refl ects a reality that strikes me: environmental messages are everywhere, yet too few are followed by real action.
