Artist words :
I painted this piece for a family in London, with the four coloured shapes standing for their four children. The black woven form stretching across the canvas is a symbol of the family bonds – strong, flexible and holding everyone together. While I worked into the small repetitive pattern, I kept thinking about family, trust, connection and resilience, including in my own life. The painting carries that warm, protective energy.
